Think we'll all have to add sanguinity when travelling after reading your account. And those crying babies - quelle horreur! Looking forward to the next instalment and travelling vicariously with you

With all those Australian families coming home for Christmas, it's a good bet I'll run into the same thing coming back!

Lee, on behalf of all of us, thank you for this! Inspiring and reassuring. Omg - the rows of babies sounds frightful (and I say this as a parent about to travel with a two-year-old - there will be no clapping!).

La Croisette a constant again! Wish I was with you to play in our long time stomping ground. Check to see if the original Pizza place is still on foreshore of old harbour xxx

I can't be here without thinking of you running up and down the Croisette in high heels. It's still such a pretty place.

Bon chance! It doesn't quite compare but have just booked flight to Hobart for MoFo - first tentative baby steps out of the State of Lockdown. Am almost as excited as travelling to France. Who am I kidding!!

You are living proof that travel is now possible. Even travel with closed lounges and screaming babies sounds exciting. Stay well and soak up the views.

Thank you, my airfare to Europe was purchased yesterday, this reassures me and ensures the excitement is well and truly outcompeting any trepidation about potential Covid impacts

Excellent, newsy, helpful report Lee. Makes the notion of travel outside of OZ at last seem not so far fetched.

Thank you, Leigh. It's not farfetched at all. Hope you get away soon.

Hi Lee, this is hysterical.....l love your writing but more important this is fantastic advice. You almost remind me of a Sir Richard Burton or a Stanley Livingston explorerer venturing into unknown territory and reporting back to the rest of the World what's out there.

Can't wait for the Cannes update.

Thanks Louise. It's really very lovely in Cannes right now. I forget all about COVID, until I realise I have a mask on.

No the plane was packed - but I did have a spare seat beside me. That was gold. Didn't want to lose it.

Cannes Is a joy . Up above the hotels and the beach is a park with three small Devine museums - one of Matisse and his own collection - further down Marc Chagal - and Museum Anthropology - see them if you can . Totally magical XJuno
